Black Friday
Black Friday is a cherished weekly tradition where African American students gather for food, fellowship, and fun, building community and unwinding after a busy week. This event has become a cornerstone of the Office of African-American Affairs, fostering connection and belonging. It happens every Friday throughout the Fall & Spring semester from 1:30-3pm.
Sponsoring a Black Friday Event
What does Sponsoring a Black Friday event look like?
In recent years, we have opened the opportunity for schools, offices, and community organizations to sponsor a Black Friday event, fostering connection and building relationships with our students. Sponsoring a Black Friday means covering the cost of food for the event, while also providing valuable resources and information to help support the holistic development and success of Black students at UVA. It truly takes a village to care for and uplift our students.

Hosting a Black Friday Event
Hosting a Black Friday event is an opportunity exclusively for student-led CIOs. It allows CIOs to showcase their brand, share information, and encourage fellow students to join and engage with their group. Additionally, CIOs can take an active role in organizing the Black Friday event, making it a great way to highlight what your organization is all about.
