Black Presidents Council (BPC)

The purpose of the Black Presidents Council (BPC) is to provide a collaborative space for executive board members of active and registered CIOs to engage in meaningful discussions on historical themes and current events that shape the experiences of Black students at the University of Virginia. Embracing inclusivity, BPC welcomes all student executive members committed to fostering meaningful dialogue, advocacy, and collaborative action that uplifts, empowers, and strengthens the broader university community. As a group of mentors and leaders, the council plays a vital role in shaping the student experience by providing strategic support through advising, advocacy, and celebration. BPC is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment that embraces the intersectional identities, cultures, and educational aspirations of all students while centering the voices and experiences of Black students at UVA.

OAAA programs, support services, spaces and events are open to all students, regardless of age, color, disability,  gender, national or ethnic origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone is valued and respected.
